Brussels, January 19: The Deputy Principal Liaison Officer, Mr. Nickson Deng Peter, met Mr. Jovan Tegovski, the Special Envoy of the Regional Cooperation Council Secretary General, in his office. The two men exchanged information on a range of issues, which included – among other things – activities of the government of Southern Sudan liaison office in Brussels.

Before taking up the post of Special Representative of the Regional Cooperation Council Secretary General, Mr. Tegovski was head of the mission of the Republic of Macedonia to the European Union and NATO.

Launched in 2008 as the replacement for the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) champions the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of South East Europe in order to advance development of the region.

The RCC has a membership of forty-odd countries and international organizations, and is headed by a Secretary General. Ambassador Jovan Tegovski is the Special Representative of the Secretary General for the organization’s relations with the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
